ASSOCIATION PROFILE
The Furniture Association of New Zealand is a national organisation set up to advance the interests of the furniture industry in New Zealand by whatever means necessary. The Association has branches in Auckland and Canterbury, see: Contact details
FANZ is the voice of the industry and is recognised by industry, government and the media as well as the general public as representing the industry.
Membership of the Association comprises manufacturers of furniture including bedding, suppliers of goods and services to the trade as well as furniture retailers. Details of members and their products are available from the Executive Director (Refer to Contact below)
The day to day management of the Association is undertaken by an Executive Director based at the national office of the Association in Wellington. The Association is governed by an Executive drawn from the membership nationally who are elected each year at the Association's annual general meeting, see: Executive
The Association initiates and co-ordinates a wide range of activities aimed at assisting member companies to meet the requirements of the marketplace both domestically and internationally as well as raising the image and quality of furniture produced in New Zealand.
Association activities vary from time to time but can cover matters such as:
• identification of technology needs
• raw material supplies and supply chain issues
• best practice programmes
• encouraging and facilitating the use of furniture designers
• dissemination of industry statistics
• wage and salary reviews.
